Review/ Giveaway Me Time CD

PhotobucketAs a busy mom, wife, student I am usually a dollar short and a day late.  So I am little late starting on my New Year's Resolution but decided that with spring, I was going to make (and stick to) some resolutions.  One of my resolutions was to start getting up early and exercising, another was to start making time for me to be alone and plan my day.  So when I got the opportunity to try a cognitive meditation CD,by Suzanne Jessee, I thought that might be a positive thing to add to my spring resolutions.  The CD has meditation and imagery sessions for both day and night.  The day session helps to get you thinking about your day with a positive attitude.  It helps energize you and getting you feeling optimistic about the things you may encounter today. 

The night session helps to quiet your mind and get you ready to sleep.  I always have a really hard time falling asleep because I sit and think about what I did that day and what I need to do the next day.  I found the night meditation really helps turn my brain off and help me get to sleep sooner. 

Suzanne Jessee's website has clinical research that shows the benefits of meditation.  Suzanne also has a new CD coming out to help people with panic disorders and anxiety.

At first I thought it might be hard to make time (at least once but recommended 3 times) a day to do the meditation CD.  But I figured that I could combine both my resolution and that has worked perfectly.  I get up at 6:30 (everyone else gets up at 7 am) I spend the 15-20 minutes listening to the CD and then plan my day.  Then I get everyone up and ready for school.  Then after dropping the kids at school, DJ and I go walk 2 miles with little kids.  Then around 7 pm we go for a smaller walk around our neighborhood and then while DJ puts the kids to bed, I listen to the night session. 

The first week was hard to get my schedule going but by the second week I was doing well.  I have been doing this routine for about 2 weeks now and I am very excited.  I feel better, more rested and calm with the kids.  I am now trying to get in an afternoon session on a regular basis.

And the best part is I get to give 1 lucky reader this CD!!!!
